Problem Statement
When we reviewed existing community and institutional programs to address the food-insecurity issue in DTES, two things were common: lack of clear rationale beyond general wellness for distributing foods and frequent underrepresentation of nutritional modulation despite recent studies providing growing evidence that calls for specific nutrient selection approach for maximized benefits.
Mission Statement
We hope to move beyond simply helping: we aim to address nutrient needs of individuals while making it research-informed to assist people facing substance use, with the ultimate goal of making care more accessible.
